Brief Project Description:

The Navy Operational Support Center (NOSC) New York City project involves a whole-center repair including selective demolition, interior and exterior renovations, and major system upgrades. Base work includes removal of stairs, handrails, partitions, finishes, HVAC and electrical equipment, demolition of the paint shop, and replacement of the underground fire protection water line. Renovations will update the quarterdeck, crew lounge, heads, and create a new east façade entrance with stairs, canopy, and handrails. Additional work includes roof repairs, replacement of deteriorated HVAC and electrical systems, a completely new ventilation system, installation of two gas-fired boilers with VFD pumps, air conditioning for the drill hall, and upgrades to public address, fire alarm/mass notification, and sprinkler systems. Interior improvements include new finishes, a vertical platform lift, telescoping seating, retractable curtain, AV equipment, and life safety and egress repairs.

Option 1 - provides a rooftop photovoltaic array with supporting structure, electrical connections, and roof modifications. Option 2 - replaces Medical Suite’s hot water heater with a new high-efficiency unit tied to the DDC control system. Option 3 - recommissions existing HVAC equipment to verify operation and provide maintenance records. Option 4 demolishes the pump building and expands the parking lot.
