Bldg. 129, Consolidation of Quality Assurance into BLDG 20, and Relocation of DAPS into Bldg. 153, Portsmouth Naval Base, Kittery, ME


Brief Project Description:

Project includes three scopes of work to include: the demolition of BLDG 129, the Consolidation of Quality Assurance into BLDG 20, and the relocation of DAPS into BLDG 153 onboard Portsmouth Naval Shipyard, Kittery, ME and a complete 100% Design Bid Build package requiring the construction of new space within B153.

The project consists of the conversion of the current DAPS Shop into Code 130 training classrooms and supporting space. The project involves demolition and removal of existing partitions, finishes, fixtures, doors, windows, equipment, ceilings, concrete slab, and associated mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection items.

The project also involves providing new partitions, finishes, fixtures, doors, windows, equipment, ceilings, floor infill, and associated mechanical, electrical, plumbing and fire protection items in support of the reconfigured layout, and incidental related work.

Some of the Key Design/Build features of the existing 153 DAPS area includes:

A darkroom used to produce the anodized aluminum plates that are used on board Navy vessels and a secure vault to store jobs that are not cleared for public viewing.

The existing DAPS area in B20 covers almost 6500 square feet, the new location at B153 is reduced to between 2000 and 3000 square feet.
