Brief Project Description:
Benaka replaced the roof on Building 87 at the Philadelphia Naval Business Center. The project was performed on three inter-connected warehouses. The work performed included the removal of existing 64,000 sq. ft. of asbestos shingle and built-up roofing and deteriorated wood plank decking. We replaced and repaired structural framing, installed new metal roofing, and performed incidental related work.
This was a high visibility project with no margin of error. The Navy severely compressed the schedule so that the roof would be able to withstand a winter snowfall. The project had high visibility as it was a high security building.
We succeeded on all accounts by completing the project and providing a refurbished roof with its beauty intact.”
