Brief Project Description:

This Project involves the design and construction for site; architecture; interior finishes;

Mechanical, Electrical, Lighting, Communication, Plumbing, Fire protection and Fire detection systems for a one story addition and renovation of an existing fire station building (Bldg. #22) and O’Keefe Hall (Bldg. #21).

This fire station is comprised of three main essential elements: Apparatus Equipment & Maintenance, Administrative and Training and Living Areas.

The Renovation of Building 21 & 22 includes repairs to bring the building up to current codes. Both Building 21 & 22 are historic buildings and the exterior look of the addition has to be coordinated with the Watervliet vernacular. The purpose of this project is to provide additional vehicle bays through the addition and additional sleeping quarters for the fire men through the renovation. There are options to this project to increase the energy efficiency of the building through the replacement of windows throughout buildings 21 & 22.

Benaka Inc. has availed the services of Design and Engineering firm Oak Point Associates for this project. The design for this project is currently underway and expected to be completed by mid-summer of this year. Construction of this project will start fall of 2016 and expected to be completed by fall of 2017.
